Prelims Examination Pattern

The following are the most important aspects of the BPSC exam pattern:

• Prelims examination will be conducted in offline mode and will be OMR based.
• The questions will be objective in nature and there is no negative marking in BPSC Prelims.
• The BPSC Combined Competitive Prelims Exam consists of only one paper, which is General Studies (GS).
• The BPSC Prelims exam has a total of 150 marks and lasts 2 hours.

BPSC 68th prelims Syllabus

BPSC Prelims exam has only one paper- General Studies which is an objective-type paper with a duration of 2 hours. Some of the important topics that have been listed down by BPSC for the BPSC Prelims exam are:

• General Science
• Events of national and international importance
• History of Bihar and Indian History
• Geography
• Geography of Bihar
• Indian Polity and Economy
• Changes in the economy of Bihar post-independence
• Indian National Movement and the Role of Bihar
• General Mental Ability

Compulsory Paper- General Hindi

• इस पत्र में प्रश्न बिहार विद्यालय परीक्षा समिति के माध्यमिक (सेकेण्डरी) स्तर के होंगे। इस परीक्षा में सरल हिंदी में अपने भावों को स्पष्टतः एवं शुद्ध-शुद्ध रूप में व्यक्त करने की क्षमता और सहज बोध शक्ति की जाँच समझी जायेगी।

अंकों का विवरण निम्न प्रकार होगा:-

• निबन्ध – 30 अंक
• व्याकरण – 30 अंक
• वाक्य विन्यास – 25 अंक
• संक्षेपण – 15 अंक

Compulsory Paper- General Studies Paper-1

• Modern History of India and Indian Culture.
• Current events of national and international importance.
• Statistical analysis, graphs and diagrams.

Compulsory Paper- General Studies Paper-II

• Indian Polity
• Indian economy and Geography of India
• The role and impact of science and technology in the development of India

Optional Paper:

• Candidates have to select one of the following 34 optional subjects in the BPSC Mains Examination
